What’s the Polar Plunge?
The Polar Plunge is an annual fundraiser presented by South Dakota Law Enforcement as part of the year-round Law Enforcement Torch Run® events to benefit Special Olympics South Dakota. Polar Plunges offer a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Special Olympics South Dakota athletes and programs by raising money and jumping into frigid waters. The event consists of 9 different Plunges across South Dakota during the coldest months of the year. From February to April, our Plunge crew will be traveling across the state to 9 different communities with one goal in mind – raise funds for Special Olympics South Dakota!
Here’s how it works: Participants raise a minimum of $100 and take a dip into the frigid waters at one of our 9 event locations. Sounds simple, but Polar Plunges are so much more than that. They are fun and exciting events that you have to experience to understand.
So grab a friend, co-worker, family member, or bring yourself! Register Today to join a tradition like no other. Not just anyone can say they have taken the plunge to be “Freezin’ for a Reason®!”
